Transport Forum in Brest

There was a solemn event dedicated to the fifth anniversary of the bilateral cooperation of the Belarusian Railways and JSC "TransContainer" in Brest from November 30 to December 2. A Transport Forum was organized under this activity, the main participants were the representatives of Belarusian railways, JSC "RZD", JSC "KTZ», PKP CARGO, JSC "TransContainer", JSC "Kedentransservice" DB Schenker, GEFCO, LLC "Trans Eurasia Logistics", as well as customs representatives of the Russian Federation, Belarus and Kazakhstan.

The main purpose of the Forum was the consolidation of companies and organizations specializing in the area freight forwarding services, customs clearance, information technology, as well as acquaintance with the experience in application of modern techniques in logistics.


 At present JSC "TransContainer" is a main strategic partner of "BELINTERTRANS, transport and logistics center." A number of successful projects were jointly carried out, such as Peugeot Citroen (Vesoul-Frankfurt on the Oder-Malaszewicze-Brest-Vorotynsk), Volkswagen Russ (Brest-Kaluga-Brest), Chongqing-Duisburg, Moscovyte (Duisburg-Brest-Moscow).

Positive trend of the project "Volkswagen Russ" proves the effectiveness and development of container trains. The train has been running successfully for almost 5 years. Totally (including 10 months of 2011) in the East-West-East direction 178906 40’ containers were transported. For 10 months in the direction of West-East 18494 containers and in the East-West direction 18003 containers were transported.

A container train with car components of "Peugeot-Citroen" has successfully been operating for two years. During 10 months of 2011 in the East-West - East direction 23 252 40-foot containers were transported, which is 2 times more than in the same period of 2010.

Since May 2011, the container train "Muscovite" transported 2030 containers (in 20-foot equivalent).

Another proof of the growing popularity and demand of container trains is a project Chongqing, Duisburg train with components for laptops of Hewlett-Packard (HP). Under the project Chongqing-Duisburg 14 trains have passed in 5 months of 2011, the total number of containers was 582.
